“I decided to create this Blog to serve as a ‘virtual’ diary of my life in recovery from Alcoholism. I’m 35 years old and live in Norfolk (UK), I have suffered from Alcoholism since I was around 13 years old. I have managed to maintain sobriety for reasonably long periods of time, but unfortunately whenever a catastrophe befalls my life I turn back to what I seem know best…the bottle.”
The above quote was taken from my original “About” page on this blog. There has been a lot of water under the bridge since I first started this blog over a year ago.
I now have a young family with the birth of our son Jenson and I am now engaged to be married to my wonderful partner Tania. I have a wonderful fifteen year old step son (Jake) and I can’t forget to mention our two cats Tigz and Gizmo.
I have worked in the I.T Industry since I was about 20 years old, my first job was with an organization called Macline in telesales selling Apple Mac equipment, I later moved to Technical Support, I have also worked for M&S and Victim Support amongst others. I am now looking to move away from the IT Sector and am currently looking for employment where I can put my knowledge of addiction and street homelessness to use.
On a personal note, I am looking forward to getting back into my Angling (When the new season starts) and along with all the other changes in my life I have decided to expand and revamp this blog, you can read more about it here.
As you can see from the statements above I am a lot of things…not just a recovering alcoholic. I really enjoy writing this blog, and I find it a useful tool in both my life and recovery.
I hope you enjoy reading this blog as much as I enjoy writing it.
